Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah (Melbourne)
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.11 лет назад
1996.02.28 - Melbourne, Australia Jeff adds a couple new wrinkles to this fabulous version of Hallelujah. Rumor has it that Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were in the audience during this show. So to all of those that may concern, upload your own version of Hallelujah. We need more of them.
Led Zeppelin - Spanish Harlem (live in Los Angeles)
Просмотров 78 тыс.12 лет назад
1975.03.25 - Los Angeles, California During the latter part of the 1975 US tour, Robert Plant would sometimes use different lyrics during the, 'I'm Going to San Francisco' bit in Dazed and Confused. This is one of those occasions as he sings the Ben E. King classic.
Roy Buchanan - Hey Joe (live in Hollywood)

1980.02.18 - Hollywood, California A funny version of Hey Joe. Yes. That is right. Funny? You will understand.

Roy Buchanan - Roy's Bluz (live in Boston)
Просмотров 10 тыс.13 лет назад
1983.10.11 - Boston, Massachusetts The gem in this recording is the first 7 minutes of Roy's Bluz. If any of you are familiar with Roy's Bluz than you know before he get's into the Bluz, he does a 'Going down to the graveyard' bit. Well it's fucking golden. That is all. Also, Roy feels like a submarine. Whatever that means.
Jeff Buckley - That Way Young Lovers Do (live in New York)
Просмотров 14 тыс.13 лет назад
1993.12.18 - CBGB's, New York City A terrific cover of Van Morrison's song. This comes out as the longest version to date with a nice little slide solo by Jeff towards the end of the song.
Roy Buchanan - Please Don't Turn Me Away/Hey Joe (live in Chicago)
Просмотров 58 тыс.13 лет назад
1979.09.15 Chicago, Illinois A nice one-two punch by Leroy Buchanan. Fantastic solo in Please Don't Turn Me Away (love the way he ends the solo) followed by maybe the his longest version of Hey Joe. Buchanan certainly over does it but fuck it, it's rock and roll.
Jeff Buckley - That's All I Ask (A cappella)

Radiohead/Led Zeppelin/Beach Boys - Lotus Flower (mashup)

A lot of the credit should go to drummerman63 for the Zeppelin/Beach Boys mashup. All I did was edit the video. For the uneducated, the songs in the mashup are When the Levee Breaks and Sloop John B.
Jeff Buckley - Dream Brother (live)

1996.03.01 Sydney Australia The last version of Dream Brother with Matt Johnson on drums. The freakout section in the middle of the song is unbelievable. Only time I've heard Jeff play a guitar solo in this song.

Four months later and am back listening to this cover song by Roy, soaking in his genius....O' the guitar picking here! I was with Roy a month before he committed suicide, spent some time with him in his trailer in the parking lot at Skipper's Smokehouse. I never would have guessed he'd be dead just weeks later. I listen to this picking here and am reminded of how brilliant the man was! I am still sad over his tragic death. I sit here listening to this...............and tears flow from my eyes. Mister softy me!

This picking gives me goosebumps! The man was good! There were some select few Roy shows at My Father's Place on Long Island mid 70's I believe. Of all the show he played there, there were these few shows where he did things with his guitar I've heard nowhere else. Some of the best Roy picking I've ever heard, not to be duplicated at any of his other shows. Just amazing. It was one of the WLIR recordings I believe. Me and my friend Tony seem to be the only ones aware of these shows. This man is under-rated generally speaking!

Led Zeppelin was not mimicking the song "Spanish Harlem" here - Robert Plant was simply singing the lyrics to it over the same riff section that they'd been playing since 1973. Robert finishes up with some of the words from Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock" song - "We are stardust, we are golden. We've got to get ourselves back to the garden...back to the garden..." Some nights Robert sang the lyrics to Scott McKenzie's song "San Francisco" and some times he sung more of the lyrics to the song "Woodstock." It depends on his mood. It's all good !

This guy is spellbinding. He plays so perfectly so easily that it seems he can ...at will....do anything he wants with his hands ....playing in so many ways at once ...like he's toying with us. His reasoning for turning down the Rolling Stones gig....." I don't look like a Rolling Stone ..I don't feel like a Rolling Stone....why would I join that band ? "
